May 27th Ride

Today was a absolutely gorgeous ride. I managed to ride without my booties! I even took off my leg warmers half way through! There were two options for this mornings ride, I decided that my knee was recovered enough to wake up at 7am and make the 70km loop from Lake Chaparell out to Okotoks and back around by Millarville returning via highway 22. (We past Red Deer Lake Jr. High which reminded me of the days when my gym teacher made us run the 2km hill) I was a little nervous when we showed up and it was the way fast team members. But I held my own and was even told that I look really 'strong' on the bike! (it takes very little to make my day!!!) We practiced our drafting and it doesn't seem nearly as scary as it once did. We passed Plumbers Road and I remembered just how badly Millarville kicked my butt last time! It's pretty cool to see how far I've come in a month. I'll be off team rides for the next couple of weeks, I'm in Denver next weekend for a Librarian Conference (which is way more fun then it sounds) and then my office is participating in the MS Bike Tour. (if I can rise $250 between now and then!)

I promise to post the MS ride for Maureen who says she misses my posts when I forget! And now some picture time!

The mountains looks amazing this morning. I also like to stop and think 'dude, I totally rocked those mountains last weekend!'

My favourite time - Snack Time!

Be sure to include the photos (not the x-rated ones) from the "Librarians gone Wild" convention in Denver.
