Bragg Creek

This weekend's ride was hot. Africa hot. Austin hot. But a beautiful ride all the same. I got to use my Smart bike rack for the first time which made me very happy not to have to take my bike apart! Though in my excitement over the Smart Rack I got up extra early and then arrived early, only to have to speed back down to retreave my helmet!

We left from the Westhills parking lot and headed west through Lower Springbank and out onto highway 22. Most of the team took off for Elbow Falls after a quick snack, myself and Ian headed back into town. 84km was enough for me in 32 degrees (also I've been having some major problems with my toes but more on that later) The tailwind coming back was a nice push outta Bragg Creek. I rode on highway 8 for the first time and will never do that again. Although the shoulder is nice and wide, who want to hear traffic for an hour. It was just as unpleasant as I thought it would be. My favourite part is when people drive past and shout 'get a car' which seems like such a strange way to insult someone.
