Lake Minnewanka & Mount Norquay

I like when work takes me somewhere I can go for a ride. I was away in Banff for work for the past few days and brought Lola up for the trip. I’d been looking forward to it through the entire team-building exercise, and personal goal setting sessions. I’m on antibiotics so that meant that I couldn’t partake in the open bar as I have in previous years. I had to be on my A game. I was riding with one of my co-workers whose mad skills on the bike I have long since admired. It was go time. Again the new bike seems to take over and suddenly I like I too might have a mad skill or two.

We met up with a new friend in Banff whose skills on the mountain bike are not to be trifled with. We couldn’t let a mountain biker show us up. It was a fast loop around Minawanka. But the fresh pavement was like riding on glass (especially for my ‘seat’ which still hasn’t forgiven me) We split up and I was talked into the Mount Norquay hill. It was so much easier then I expected. Though the bike has a granny gear (which I imagine will come in handy through Wyoming) I didn’t even have to think about clicking down. The view at the top was the treat waiting for us and me for once without camera! Unfortunately we did hit some S**** which I won’t say for fear of the McBeth curse.
