Training
Swim, bike, run, swim, run, bike off, and repeat
I'm working on building my aerobic base. That means lots and lots of kilometers, very, very, very slowly. This weekend I went for a 45 minute run and was forced to keep my heart rate below 130/bpm DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW FREAKIN' SLOW THAT IS. I was passed by grandma's! All the while repeating "it's all for Ironman, it's all for Ironman!" then I made up a song in my head about building my aerobic base. It's kinda catchy and find myself humming it at inappropriate moments. But I digress, I had to walk at numerous points to lower my heart rate and listen to whinny, sad, bastard music (the decemberists ,who I love but they are very whinny) as to not overly excite myself.
Swimming on today kinda rocked though. Having drills to do kept my mind off what I was doing. Focusing on keeping my head low in the water when I'm breathing and fully rotating also kept my mind occupied. I felt great after the 50 minute swim.
Tomorrow I'm off which I think means I can do some Pilate's and still consider it an off day! Wow that's kinda sad.
