With all the questions I figured I might as well just post it. I'm moving to Victoria, I've been accepted into the Communications program at Royal Roads University. It started out that I just wanted to leave Calgary sometime last fall. I was lonely and tried of living on a low salary high prestige job in a city that has more cash then it knows what to do with. It always bothered me that I didn't have a degree but until this year I never had the confidence in myself to go back and do it.
Being one of the very few native Calgarian's feel like everywhere I go I know someone. Sometimes this comes in handy when you bump into a friend that you haven't seen in ages and sometimes when it's an ex-boyfriend this city seems just too darn small. I will very badly miss all of my friends here, especially the new ones that I've been made recently but I just can't shake the feeling that it's my time to do something new.
Plus, who doesn't want an excuse to visit me on the island? Victoria 1/2 marathon anyone?

Victoria? Victoria!! Now i am jealous....that city has always felt like home!!
We just went there and I loved it there!! I see good things in your future and THINK OF THE BIKE RIDING!!!
i'm in for the 1/2 - just need a floor to sleep on! unless the parental unit come out of course, then we'll get a hotel. EEEEEEEEEE!
Good for you -- when it's time for a change you know it deep within yourself. Way to go for having the courage to listen to your voice. I'm in for the Run Fat Boy Run movie!!! Tell me when and where --it would be such a blast to meet some of you!!! :) :)
My wife and I have visited Victoria a number of times and liked it. I always feel a little out of place though. It seems that everybody we run into is either a geezer or a student, and I'm neither of those. (I hope.) Plus, the whole concept of "Island time" just kills me. But hope you enjoy out there! Pity we didn't get to meet before you go.
