penticton day two - have you meet my friend Darryl?

Today was the big day. I was going to have to get into the lake. Julie and I drove to Oliver together and she kept talking and probably didn't notice my nerves but I kept looking at the lakes thinking 'really? is it wise to get in there?'

I bumped into a friend from Calgary at the lake in Oliver and thought "great now I'll have an audience to witness my freak out" I suited up and jumped in (or rather carefully and causiously wadded) I put on my goggles (note to self pick up tinted goggles) and went under and something happened. NOTHING I was relaxed and felt fine. None of the panic from last summer! I was so excited! Julie and Susi stayed close for the first bit and then we headed out farther into the lake and still NOTHING! Awesome.

We hopped on our bike and zipped down to Osoyoos. Sadly for me I had forgotten my bike shorts back at the hotel and had to do the entire 80+km ride in running/tri shorts. Fortunately with all the miles I've put in this year it wasn't as painful as I thought.

I did manage to get into my aeros a couple of times (those crazy things at the end of my pretty, pretty road bike) then a nice long hill. Man I love a good climb.

I was all set to do a brick after but Mark was already hip deep and it looked so inviting. Damn you Mark! Damn you Lake!

Keith, Jenna you'll be happy to know that I cracked a beer after showering up. I was told I was a bad influence after giving one to Andrea! Soon you'll all be under my powers of persuasian!
