So after biking all day Saturday the right thing to do was hit a bar and say goodbye to my friends. (Note to self don't try to plan a going away on a weekend in the summer, nobody can make it) After many great chats with the very lovely people who came to say goodbye I did make it home at a reasonable hour.
I made it to the lake with enough time to pick up a doughnut for Al and a cup of tea for myself, my head was a touch fuzzy after the previous night's events. Nothing like a little open water swim to rid you of the devils drink! I FINALLY got to meet the infamous Curtis! Darryl will tell you we swam and chatted, they may have. I swam and swam and swam to catch up with them before they would take off again! They both are very strong swimmers! Fortunately for me I had Al in the row boat to keep my company!
I brought Lola down with me and after the swim headed out for my bike ride. As soon as I got on her I knew my legs were done from the previous day's hills. Now I know most of you are use to riding on your own. I'm not, I always have someone to chat with and push me up the hill. Sunday was a long and painful journey up Road to Nepal and back. Finally the storm clouds pushed to to stomp on the pedals a bit harder to get back into town before another storm hit!
All in a a very successful weekend of training. (except that pesky lack of running)
