Famous last words...

So all week long people have been asking me about my training and my typical response has been something like

'well I'm in what's called a taper mode now, so I get to relax and just try not to get injured' Da Da Daaaaaa

Several things to note in this photo

1. I am in bad need of a pedicure
2. I have some very funky tan lines
3. I have very unattractive ankles
4. The right ankle looks slightly more swollen then the left

Yup! I sprained my ankle this morning. Out for a early morning run and while quick on my feet running through the beautiful trails I hit flat ashfault and WHAM I went down. Landed funny on my ankle and thanks for playin'. As the pain hit me all I remember was getting these flashes of Ironman. I swore and hopped to my feet and it seemed like it was alright but about a half hour into class and I got this horrible throbbing pain. After class my very gentlemanly classmates helped me to the cafeteria and then went and asked if the school had crutches. I'm very impressed with my classmates right now.

So here I am trapped in my dorm room (yes, Greg it's elevated with an ice pack!!) writing papers until the swelling goes down! Could someone send chocolate Almond Milk! whimper

Ice it, ice it, ice it -- I know exactly where you are coming from...but I was given specific instructions NOT to write about any pre-race injuries. LOL!!!

The most important thing is to take care of you and not bugger up your body. :) :) :) :) :)
