Thetis Lake

I had a crazy day at school today. I'm really looking forward to coming back and getting into a slightly slower groove. I don't even that busy but everyone else is freaking out so then I start to feel overwhelmed and then panic ensues. Madness I tell you madness. Also, at some point I need to start thinking about Ironman. But I'm reserving next week for that!

First in pre race tradition my number 1801! Baby! Watch for it!

Second, my ankle is doing MUCH better. It was a little bit sketchy on Monday so I took an extra day of rest (which was helpful in addition to the pile of work I have to do!) but now it barely hurts at all! I'm a little nervous what 42km will do to it. But no sense stressing out about it, can't control what's gonna happen that day, so I can't worry about the maybes'

Third, I swam in the prettiest lake ever today! Sorry Julie. Turtle lake does have some advantages. Being so clear and the turtles but this lake had islands! Two of them! I did a loop of the lake and another pass around island #2 all in 45 minutes. Jenna you'll be happy to know that I too freak out over seaweed! Totally freaked me out! Also, the rather large fishies. I'm not use to swimming with large fish in a large school. I felt like I was going to swim through them. Blech

So I'll update with a pic once my brand new camera battery have finished charging. grrr

Sounds like a gorgeous swim! And a lake with islands!!! How cool is that? :) :)

Did I tell you about the time I was swimming when I actually "pet" a fish? It happened just as my hand entered the water and I began to pull -- the timing was so weird. This fish happened to be hovering right beneath my hand and as I continued with my stroke, my fingertips traced along it's back. I didn't see the fish until I felt it -- shudder.

Ewwwwww!! It was so gross!! And the fish just sat there -- wiggling it's body to stay in place like it enjoyed it! Eccchhhhhh!!! LOL!!

I read somewhere that Simon Whitfield and gang train up a Thetis Lake from time to time.

Hope things are going well over there.

Wait a sec, you know what that fish was probably doing? Laying eggs, or male fish dumping his sperm on the eggs. They vibrate(or shudder as you said) when they do that. You interrupted them having sex??? How rude, hee hee.
