I caught a cold over the weekend and opted out of my usual Sunday bike workout and instead spent the better part of it on the couch watching Ironman DVD's (it's like osmosis right?)
Today was a different story I was feeling better after two days off and went out for my run at lunch. Running in shorts in February with a cold probably not the smartest thing but it made me feel almost spring like.
Today's work-out was 65 minutes
20min warm up - brisk walk up Centre Street Bridge into a nice easy run
12min zone 3 - and to give Keith a heart attack Zone Three for me means 181-190
5min zone 2
repeat twice
10min cool down
I love zone three. It's the only zone that I feel like I'm fast running in. I know it's the 'junk zone' but it just feel so darn good.
I felt fine during the run but now sitting at my desk I'm coughing a bit hopefully that means I'm on the road to recovery!

OMG. My heart is going thumpity thump just thinking about it. The highest I've ever seen my heart rate is about 159 for a few minutes climbing my hybrid bike out of Weasel Head flats to North Glenmore Park. I don't know how you do it.
