Last night I made it up for the IG Sweatfest. And was it ever! The room was packed to the roof with sweaty triathletes! I had a great time, I wish that I had taken him up hon his offer to join them earlier! A totally different class then the one I take at TCR but I think I enjoyed it more. At TCR we tend to macho out and do everything we can to win and I spend most of the class in Zone 4 or a full our V02 Max (this week being no exception topping out at 214 bpm before my HR band dug started giving me a stitch so I threw it off) Greg's was just as intense but more of an aerobic work out then full on hold your threshold 'till you hit Zone 5 The Re-Taste-It Zone . I think I'll be adding it to my list of activities for the next couple of weeks. Though I was hoping that some of you would show up so I could put some faces to the blogs!
This morning I moved into the fast lane in the pool. Before you start Swim Nazi I ensured that I could keep pace with them before I moved over and messed up their set! It was fast and nice not having an engineer control the lane. Our set was something like this
200m warm up
400m 50m kick, 50m free
400m TT
400m Any stroke but free
400m TT
400m Any stroke
400m TT
400m 50m kick, 50m scull
400m TT
200m cool down
Total: 3600m!!!! Crazy? When did that happen?????
The funny part of the story was this morning when I was chatting with out IG and I told him that we did the TT's in 4:17! Turns out that's a little fast. Clearly math and I are not friends. Our actual time was 7:17 as confirmed by a lane-mate. Sorry Greg, I'm sure that sounds a lot better!
