So one month from today we'll all be sitting on the bike thinking really? How did I get here? I feel 100% ready for the swim (which is a crazy shock to feel actually prepared for the swim??? I'm still not 100% sure on placement but I feel like I'll follow Julie race morning and just try to catch a ride on her feet!!!)
The bike I feel like I'm mostly read for. I know I can do the distance. I'd just like to have a little more power up Yellow then I did last time. But again I'm pretty comfy about how that will go. The only worry I have a now is if I have a bike mechanical but there is no sense worrying about it since I can't control it!
The run however is a whole other matter. I'm not at all prepared to run a marathon right now. My shin was calming down but this week it's been very, very, VERY angry. I haven't been able to put any distance or length of time in. I know I am capable of pushing myself through it and I've always said it's not about what time I finish, it's about finishing. Right now I'm not mentally prepared to walk. I'm hoping that the good long rest I'm giving it in combination with some trail runs I'm planning once I'm out in Victoria will get me up to speed.
A month from now is going to be a pretty specataular day.

OMg..in thirty one days we will be IRONMEN!!!
I have no doubt that everything will take care of itself out there - you will swim, bike, and run (or whatever combo you need to do) to get your ass across the finish line. Your greatest challenege now is allowing yourself to heal a bit so that you can push it - because you will have the fitness there even if you havent run in a bit.... its all good. Plus...streaker - we have a date in that lake!
how time flys when you are having fun! the excitement is starting to build for me too and i'm not even doing it! lol.
oh! julie mentioned your infinit didn't work for you. not sure if you knew this but they will redo another batch and send it to you free if the first didn't work out. they are awesome for that! i had that problem too - takes a bit to really narrow down the formula.
Kelsey -- you do have the mental strength to walk, run, jog, or crawl a marathon!! You are a tough, tough chick -- I don't think you realize just how mentally tough you are.
I think it is so awesome that you are feeling confident about the swim!! You can tag along on my feet any day -- I already warned Jenna that I would hitch a ride for the first bit -- LOL!!! Call me crazy but I sort of like having someone tickle my feet as I swim!! Hee-hee-hee!
