I had a really great weekend of training. It's amazing watching just how easily the body responds to pushing it now. I rode 160km on Saturday and we had a beauty of a day. Went south through the rollers and had a great day. I took my brand new sneakers to the gym to test them out on the track for a quick 30 min run. I FINALLY have permission to run again from my chiropractor. I'm not going to lie it was pretty painful. Those shins of mine fought hard and resisted every step. I know 42km isn't going to be easy but the goal is to keep moving forward (and take as much Ibuprofen as I can handle!!)
Sunday was an absolute gem of a day. I got a much more reasonable start with one of my favourite riding partners. We headed out to Red Deer Lake and did a similar loop but backwards and through a few of Jamie's secret paths. It was the nostalgia tour starting at my Junior High School and going through my 'hood. The classic Kelsey move of the day was when Jamie stopped for a pee break and said don't go to far we have to make a right. The suddenly I was on this wicked downhill! It was awesome. About 1/2 down I start thinking that I haven't seen a right turn and start worrying that I've missed it. But I was having too much fun to care and continued to whip down. Finally Jamie meets up only to inform me that the right hand turn was like 50m from where he left me. yup, I had to climb all the way back up! Much less fun! The jokes on me though, Jamie loves a good climb and 10min after we got to the top he informed me that we could have looped back on the road! He's a very bad man.
Riding in southern Alberta is definitely going on the con's to moving list. Hopefully there will be some decent riding on the island to make up for it. (who am I kidding biking in March will be thrill enough!!!)
It't been a weird day for me. I've been really up and down all day. I think moving is going to be tougher then I had expected. Life rarely wraps itself up in a neat little box for me.

Awesome riding, Kelsey! I'll bet you are going to miss your super trainig bud, Jamie. But I am just as sure you are going to meet up with a bunch of great people too. After all who can resist your charms? And those killer calves? LOL!!
