So after having such a unhappy training week last week I was a little worried going into this week. Apparently those days off really helped!
My run yesterday was awesome! I kept it in lower zone two for the entire 50 min. run and felt like I was actually running the whole time not just shuffling. Plus, it was gorgeous out. I also left my ipod behind and just enjoyed the sunshine. While music is a HUGE motivator for me it might be pushing me to go harder then I should. Who knows if it was the music, the gorgeous weather or the days of rest but my run felt great.
Then I chicked the guys in swim class! Me! I had a really strong swim and felt like I could have kept going well after the 1.5 mark (unfortunately work and life and not wanting permanent raisin fingers prevented me). Our set today went something like this
200m warm up
800m drills I can't remember right now
Main set x8
50 swim
50 kick
50 pull
50 fist
But my lane decided we had time for one more so we did 9. The guy who always leads our lane was sucking some serious wind and the end of each set and refused to get off the front. I've never had a swim like that!
Here's to the flu and rest days!

Great to hear those rest days really paid off! I know how hard it must have been for you to keep your heart rate in a lower zone -- your previous posts are hilarious! Awesome swim workout -- go get 'em tiger!! :) :)
