Hot Tub time!

So I made a deal with myself if I just got dressed and walked into the doors to the Talismen to do my weights I could have a hot tube. I read somewhere that if you're not feeling motivated to work out just change into your clothes. I'm sure that the only reason this works is because you can't sit on the couch in your bike clothes without them eventually mocking you and you get up off your lazy ars and do it.

In the end the weights were the best thing for my tired legs. I think it helped to flush out all the junk. Though it might have been my new bathing suit and the hot tub that helped (COSTCO has Nike swimsuit on for $29.99 ladies)

It business as usual at swim this morning. I've been getting there on time now that I walk in which give me a solid 15min warm up or 400m before Syl kick our butts.

Today was
5 set of 100m
-25 fists
-25 back

ha and we thought we were getting off easy!

then 5 sets of 500m descending on 2:15
in between 500m sets get out of the pool and 10 push ups.

We have an engineer in our lane so he likes to make sure that we are kept on a tight schedule. our sets when something like this
100m 2:15
100m 2:10
100m 2:05
100m 2:00
100m 1:45
to the second. Heaven forbid if someone takes the lead and pushes it faster, something terrible would most certainly happen, I'm not sure what that might be but it would be very very bad.

Usually this guy doesn't bother me too much. I just hold back and focus on getting my stroke right. Today I found the first three 100m too slow, hopefully we can push him a little more next!

Also, I was talking with a non-tri friends (I have two groups now, one to talk about movies, music, concerts, literature and another to talk tri if I can find a tri book club I'd be all set!) I was telling her about this little blog community and I realized just how important it's become to me. I start up my computer in the morning and I can't wait to read all the posts, get some tips and encouragement and to share in this crazy experience. I know that I can't skip a workout because I'll have nothing to blog about the next day! So here's to all the Iron Greg'ers you guys rock!

So you went for a 'hot tube' eh? Uhm, should you be posting that kind of stuff?! LMAO.

Friggin engineers eh?! URGH! Hopefully you just swam right over top of him while proclaiming PRECISE TIMES BE DAMNED!

I'm all for a tri book club! I'm presently reading three books: Jane Eyre, A Long Way Gone, and On Becoming a Leader.

Yup, we do all rock don't we?!

ROTFL That is too funny! Spell check does not quite catch everything!

I LOVE a Long Way Round. Have you seen the DVD?

Rats, Susi got there first. I'm up for a tri book club. I belong to two now, but one is a social club mostly reading books I don't like, and meeting at a place I don't like. If it wasn't for my buddy K, I'd have left a long time ago. (She joined after you left Susi.)

I've read Jane, but not the other two. I've got Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, The Raw Shark Texts, The Historian, and The Shadow of the Wind all on the go at the moment, but I don't get much time to read anymore. Pity I can't read and spin at the same time.

I've never tried descending sets like that. 10 pushups in between?? I'd never get to the second set.

long way gone...i don't think it's out yet on dvd. it's about boy soldiers in africa. hard to read in parts as it's all so sad. but it's quite good.

Love the book club idea!! I'm like Keith, sadly my reading has been sacrificed. However, one book I am trying to read right now is "No Logo" by Naomi Klein. All time favourite include anything written by Robertson Davies (but especially "The Manticore"), Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, and Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. Susi you would LOVE Siddhartha (hope I spelled it right)!!! I mean drop everything right now and get it!! :) :) :)

yeah ya sicko - a hot tube in your new suit?? LMAO

And I know what you mean about logging in to check in on everyone - it certainly makes you feel like you are alone less and accountable in some ways to posting your successes and struggles for a little support :)
